However, I have four furry reasons not to have a midnight snack.
If I get one, they want one.
If they get one tonight, they will expect one tomorrow night.
So I thought I’d mix something up in the blender before I go to bed. I love my blenders. (Not a typo, I have two.)
I started with some unsalted mixed nuts, and added coconut water (filled with antioxidants!), just to cover, and blended for 2 minutes. I don’t usually buy coconut water, as it is pricey, but Kroger had some 16 oz. bottles (regularly $3.99) on Manager’s Special for 50 cents each!
Then I added turmeric (anti-inflammatory), ginger (anti-viral), a banana (to sweeten it), and organic, fair trade cocoa powder (because cocoa), and blended some more.
All that time in the blender made it a perfect temperature for hot chocolate. It is very creamy, almost like pudding, and yummy. Comfort food that is also healthy!
